On January 25, 2025, you can observe a notable planetary alignment in the evening sky. Four bright planets—Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars—will be visible along the ecliptic, the apparent path of the sun across the sky. This alignment is a result of the planets’ positions in their orbits around the sun, causing them to appear in a line from our perspective on Earth.

To view this alignment from Miami Beach, Florida, look towards the western horizon shortly after sunset to spot Venus and Saturn. Jupiter will be higher in the sky, and Mars will rise in the east as the evening progresses. While Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars are visible to the naked eye, observing Uranus and Neptune will require binoculars or a telescope due to their dimness.

It’s important to note that while the planets appear aligned from our viewpoint, they are not physically in a straight line in space. Such visual alignments are relatively common and occur due to the orbital planes of the planets.
