by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (B.R.M.C.)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club took their name from a 1953 movie. The name was name of Marlon Brando's motorcycle gang in The Wild One.
In 2003, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club had to stop a show halfway through because officials thought the floor of the venue might collapse. The band was playing at the Leeds Town Hall in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England when Leeds City Council officials suspected the 150 year old floor was about to give in. This led to the band sometimes being referred to as "the band who broke the floor."
At the 2004 V Festival in England, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club frontman Peter Hayes came out onstage early to sign an inflatable penis.
Tragedy struck Black Rebel Motorcycle Club after a gig on August 19, 2010. The band finished their set at the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium only to find that bassist Robert Levon Been's father Michael had died backstage of a heart attack.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club drummer Leah Shapiro has been playing drums since she was 18. She played drums in The Raveonettes before getting the call to play with BRMC on tour in Europe. After drummer Nick Jago suddenly left the band in 2008, they asked Shapiro if she'd be interested in being Jago's replacement. Within a month, Shapiro had learned 30 BRMC songs and was ready to hit the road.
Although Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is now based in Los Angeles, frontman Peter Hayes says he'd rather be traveling than stuck at home. He likes moving around and says that "if you have a problem with not showering and not sleeping in your own bed, it's the wrong job for you."
Specter at the Feast is the seventh studio album released on March 18, 2013 in Europe and March 19, 2013 in the US. It was released under the band's own record label, Abstract Dragon, through Vagrant Records. Unlike Beat The Devil's Tattoo, the album wasn't produced by Michael Been, who died after he suffered a heart attack mid-tour in 2010 while the band was playing at Pukkelpop. As a result, Specter at the Feast was a way for the band to mourn their loss and rid the pain, as he was the father of bassist Robert Levon Been, but also their live sound technician and a mentor to all the members.
The band's first single from the album, a cover of The Call's 1989 hit "Let the Day Begin". The same day, the song became Q's track of the day. The band have also released the "Let the Day Begin" EP for free, consisting of the single and the album track "Returning", which has also been made available for streaming on the official website.
The band have released a six-part promotional short film documenting the recording of Specter at the Feast.
Beat the Devil's Tattoo is the sixth studio album, released on March 8, 2010, in Europe and on March 9, 2010, in North America. It is the second full-length on the band's own Abstract Dragon label, in partnership with Vagrant Records and Cooperative Music Group.
The title track Beat the Devil's Tattoo was used by writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait in his 2011 dark comedy film God Bless America. It has also been used in the 2012 film End of Watch and in Where the Trail Ends and "River Styx" was used in the UK TV Series Peaky Blinders (Series Two, Episode Six and Series Four, Episode Four).
Beat the Devil's Tattook was also used in the "Pathfinders" trailer for the 2017 strategy video game Endless Space 2.
Beat the Devil's Tattook was used in the fourth episode of the third season of the American TV Show Preacher which is aired on AMC.
Beat the Devil's Tattoo was used by director Neil Marshall in his 2019 reboot film Hellboy.
Beat the Devil's Tattoo was used in the War in the Pacific Official Trailer for the video game Battlefield V.
B.R.M.C. is the debut studio album released on Virgin Records on April 3, 2001. Track 3 is Whatever Happened To My Rock And Roll (Punk Song)
