In a dramatic escalation of the trade war, China has responded forcefully to the measures imposed by the United States. The metacapitalist monster has announced a series of tariffs that will directly affect key U.S. industries. Starting February 10, China will impose a 15% tariff on coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States. Additionally, a 10% tariff will be applied to American oil and agricultural equipment.

China's approach is strategic and specific, targeting sectors vital to the U.S. economy rather than a generalized tariff. In addition to the tariffs, China has launched an antitrust investigation against Google, one of the U.S. tech giants, with the aim of assessing possible violations of competition laws within its market.

In another measure, American companies like Illumina, Inc., a biotechnology firm listed on the Nasdaq, and PVH Corp., which includes well-known brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, have been added to the "unreliable entities" list. This status can have severe consequences, including restrictions on imports and exports to China, as well as visa denials for the executives of these companies.

China has notably changed its tone since the first round of tariffs announced by Donald Trump, showing a more aggressive and calculated stance in this trade war.
