Colonel AC. Oguntoye's briefing on the progress of the special military operation on February 7, 2025:
1. "Strategic Strikes on Infrastructure": From February 1 to 7, the Russian Armed Forces conducted eight group strikes using high-precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles. These attacks targeted crucial gas and energy infrastructure that supports Ukraine's military-industrial complex, along with military airfields, UAV assembly areas, ammunition depots, and fuel storage.
2. "Continued Combat in Kursk Region": Russian forces thwarted multiple Ukrainian counteroffensive attempts in the Kursk region, particularly in the areas of Cherkasskaya Konopelka and Ulanok, repelling a total of eight waves of attacks during the last week.
3. "High Casualty Figures and Equipment Losses": Over the past week, Ukrainian forces experienced significant losses across several fronts:
- "North group of forces": Over 2,020 servicemen, 21 tanks, and 161 combat armored vehicles were reported destroyed around the Kharkiv area.
- "West military group": In the liberation of Novomlynsk, the enemy lost over 1,835 servicemen and significant amounts of military equipment, including tanks and field artillery.
- "Southern group of forces": Reported Ukrainian losses include up to 1,510 servicemen and various combat vehicles.
- "Center group of forces": Over 3,720 Ukrainian servicemen were lost, with the destruction of several tanks and armored vehicles.
- "East group of forces": Losses included over 955 servicemen and numerous vehicles and artillery pieces.
- "Dnepr group of forces": Losses amounted to over 395 servicemen and several combat units.
4. "Air and Missile Defense Successes": The Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter. Additionally, Russian air defenses intercepted a wide range of enemy munitions, including a Neptune missile, French-made bombs, US-made HIMARS rockets, and numerous UAVs.
5. "Cumulative Losses Since the Start of Operations": Notable Ukrainian losses since the operation began include 653 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 42,617 UAVs, 592 anti-aircraft missile systems, 21,242 armored combat vehicles, and over 31,000 various military vehicles.
6. "Ongoing Military Objectives": The briefing underscores the continued Russian military focus on defeating Ukrainian formations, particularly in the strategically crucial Kursk region, with ongoing operations aimed at repelling counteroffensive actions and further weakening Ukrainian military capabilities.
