Faith Under Fire

Religious freedom is a cornerstone of America, but inside prison walls, Jake Lang saw a different reality.

While other faiths were granted space for worship, he and fellow Christian inmates were denied access to chapel services for four years. Undeterred, Jake built his own church—right in his cell. He gathered men, studied the Bible, baptized new believers, and led worship sessions in the most unlikely of places.

He reflects on the power of faith in the face of systemic opposition, the revival that grew behind bars, and the strength found in standing for what you believe in.

What does religious freedom mean to you? Have you ever had to fight for it? Let’s discuss.
