Hamilton homeless camp remains after deadline

A ceremony near Fifth Third Center honored the four police officers who cut short a gunman’s rampage less than one month ago. People living in a homeless camp in Hamilton expected to be forced out by the end of September, but they remained there as of the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 1. A posting on a tree in the camp stated that everyone had to be cleared out by the end of the month. Someone tore down the sign Sunday night, and now the people experiencing homelessness in the camp are wondering whether the deadline will really be enforced.
