Strange Congo Chiefs Wife Statue from 1890s HancockMuseum

weird small statue supposedly of a Human Chief's wife from the Congo in the 1890's but seems more lizard/animal like (bit like a hedgehog)
Whatever it is, if it's the chiefs wife, you'd think the artist would be more complimentary!
