Valentine’s Day is known as a celebration of love, but its origins are far darker than you might think. Before chocolates and roses, the ancient Romans observed Lupercalia, a brutal festival of blood, fertility, and sacrifice. This eerie tradition involved animal sacrifices, strange rituals, and even public beatings—all in the name of purification and matchmaking. As centuries passed, the holiday evolved, but its sinister roots remain buried beneath the romance. In this video, we uncover the chilling truth behind Valentine's Day, the execution of St. Valentine, and how history transformed this disturbing past into a modern celebration of love.

Wife and I have set out from the beginning of our marriage, of 46 years, to not celebrate holidays.

We did pretty well until we were around the church crowd. The church has fallen to the habit of pandering to people’s feelings. Some people need to be stroked, and placated.

If people want to celebrate foolish and many times pagan holidays, I am in favor of it. Please exclude me.

Wife and I have given gifts to one another because it was right. Not because society decided that all husbands or all good wives do this on a prescribed day.

Then when the gift comes, it truly is a surprise and a delight. To give and to receive, because the gift comes from desire.
Appreciate y’all
