Living with Courage and Humility: Lessons from St. Titus and the Scriptures
Welcome to today's episode. We will reflect on the Scripture readings honor the saints traditionally celebrated on this day, and draw from their wisdom to strengthen our faith. Let’s open our hearts and minds to receive the truths God has prepared for us.

1. Scripture Readings from the 1962 Roman Missal
Epistle: 2 Timothy 1:1-8
"Be thou mindful that thou stir up the grace of God, which is in thee by the imposition of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of sobriety."
Reflection:
St. Paul’s exhortation to Timothy speaks directly to us today. We are reminded that God does not want us to live in fear or hesitation but to be filled with love, courage, and sound judgment. The call to "stir up the grace of God" is an invitation to rekindle the spiritual gifts received through the sacraments, especially Confirmation. Are we stirring up the grace within us daily through prayer, devotion, and acts of love?

Gospel: Luke 14:26-33
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."
Reflection:
These words from Christ may sound harsh, but they reveal an essential truth: nothing must come before our love and fidelity to God. Christ's call is radical. It requires a detachment from worldly attachments and even from our own self-will. True discipleship demands sacrifice and a complete surrender to God’s will. How can we reorder our priorities today to place God at the center?

2. Traditional Saints for February 6
St. Titus (Disciple of St. Paul and Bishop of Crete)
St. Titus was a trusted companion of St. Paul and a faithful shepherd of the Church in Crete. He was known for his zeal, wisdom, and ability to bring peace among the faithful. His life reminds us of the importance of obedience to Church teachings and the need for strong leadership rooted in Christ.
St. Dorothy (Virgin and Martyr)
St. Dorothy was a third-century martyr who endured brutal persecution for her unwavering faith. Her story is one of purity and courage. According to tradition, as she was being led to her execution, a skeptic mocked her faith, asking for proof of heaven. She miraculously sent him roses and fruit in the middle of winter. He converted and became a martyr himself.
Both saints exemplify the virtues of courage, obedience, and unwavering faith in God.

4. Closing Prayer
Let us now turn to prayer, asking for the intercession of St. Titus and St. Dorothy as we strive to live courageously and faithfully.
Prayer:
Almighty and Eternal God, You granted St. Titus the wisdom to shepherd Your Church and St. Dorothy the courage to witness to Your truth through martyrdom. Through their intercession, strengthen us to live as faithful disciples of Christ. Fill our hearts with the grace to detach from worldly distractions and to embrace Your holy will with joy. Grant us the courage to bear witness to Your truth in every aspect of our lives. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
