My Lesbian Haircut. (And something about cookies)

Oof, not gonna lie, I didn’t see this coming.

When I posted the video announcing the Girl Scout Cookies were once again on sale, I expected things would go swimmingly.

You know, just like last year.

Alas, that’s not the case.

Maybe it’s the price of eggs (up, despite many campaign promises), or the price of gasoline (also up slightly) or a sense of what’s happening to the stock market and the economy (anyone see that fairly big drop on Monday?), but sales are down.

It’s quite sad.

For many reasons.

One: The Girl Scouts is a great organization.

It helps build leadership skills through hands-on activities, decision-making, and community projects. In fact, over 50% of female business leaders and 76% of female U.S. Senators were Girl Scouts.

The organization promotes science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through specialized badges and programs, encouraging girls to pursue careers in these fields.

They also are a force of good when it comes to Community Service & Civic Engagement, with scouts taking place in community events.

But, all that aside, what we’re doing here is asking people to buy cookies and donate them to a Children’s Hospital.

I mean, that alone should be enough.

You have kids, in a hospital, which is nothing short of heartbreaking.

Who wouldn’t want them to get as many cookies as possible?

Hopefully this video turns things around, because…

Well, because it’s just plain crappy that we’ve gotten off to such a slow start.
