I was musing on the problem of despair and the 'Black Pill', I'm hearing such pessimism from so many people but I feel such optimism within myself!

As I mused this poem / meditation wrote itself in my mind.

Transcript below.

"I know your arms are heavy,
and your mind is filled with lead;
I know it's hard to conquer
all the doubts that cloud your head.

Our governments have hit us,
with recession war and debt;
But in this darkness never doubt,
that it's not over yet.

We were born with freedoms,
and prosperity galore;
But we trusted the wrong people,
now we are free no more.

It stings the soul to think of
all the glories that we've lost;
It hurts when we consider -
they were bought at such a cost.

We owe it to our ancestors,
the ones who made us free;
And in turn we owe our children,
who depend on you and me.

To play our part while it's our time,
to uphold what is right;
And though our arms are weary,
we must not give up the fight.

The storm that we have weathered,
has refined us like a fire;
The dross has been removed,
and now we seethe with righteous ire.

As we set our hearts and minds
upon the task that lies ahead;
We will not see our children
beg for freedom nor for bread.

It falls to us to put this crop
of tyrants in their place;
To ensure accountability,
and leave them in disgrace.

To turn the tide and soon restore,
before it is too late;
To generations yet unborn,
the things that made us great.

History is calling us,
to rise and play our part;
Greatness is the destiny
of all who have the heart.

To lift their arms so heavy
and grasp the clouds of lead;
And write with them a story,
to be told when long we're dead.

That you and I, when twas our time,
stood tall, uncompromising;
We faced these tyrants one and all,
their threats and fear despising.

To restore our former glory,
with blood and tears and sweat.
Because the best part of our story?
isn't written yet."
