Dr. Sabine Hazan: "But the problem is when you're stressed, think about what's happening to your microbiome. You're building up microbes. You're killing off microbes that are good for you, and you're building up bad microbes. So that are craving certain foods, the junk food. So you become that that, you you start developing an addiction."

"The addiction is really created by your microbiome. I believe that. When we see people that have addiction, you know, to drugs and then we change their microbiome. And those are obviously, I'm not gonna say this happens for everyone, but certainly cases that, you know, me and my colleagues have noticed, when you take a drug addict and you give them a completely new microbiome, they they no longer drug addicts."

"When you take someone that's a sugar addict like, I'll give you an example. I I did a fecal transplant on a mom who basically a grandmother who had metastatic mesothelioma, and I gave her her grandson's microbiome. The day after the procedure, she started craving chicken nuggets and French fries because that's what the grandchild was addicted to. So that's the day. Microbes dictate what you're eating."

"And craving. And craving. So when you're a sugar addict, it's probably because you're missing microbes that are absorbing sugar. So the rest of the microbes are needing sugar, but they don't have the microbes that provides them the sugar."
