The chariot festival of the great Lord Parvateshwara Swamy (Parvatappa Swamy), who has attained Jeevasamadhi in the famous temple Rayampalli village in Uravakonda mandal of Anantapur district, was held grandly at 3:00 am on Wednesday. The chariot festival of the Swamy was held in the presence of thousands of devotees. The chariot was pulled from Rayampalli to the Parvateshwara Swamy temple and after special pujas, it was returned to its original position in the village in the morning. During the chariot festival, the priests performed special pujas to the Swamy. The devotees had darshan of the Swamy's Jeevasamadhi and fulfilled their vows. The devotees specially roasted coconuts in the temple premises. It is believed that if you roast a raw coconut here, all your troubles and sins will be removed. Temple committee members, people from Nerametla, Rayampalli and Vyasapuram villages attended this chariot festival in large numbers. The temple was beautifully decorated with electric lamps on the occasion of the chariot festival
