Back in November of 2005, archaeologists were working on a dig in Gath and found a broken piece of clay, a shard. This discovery hit major news networks worldwide as it helps prove the existence of the Philistine: It is inscribed with the name Goliath. Archaeologists soon discovered this shard fits back in the time period of King David and King Saul.
