Today will be an interesting story about the most mysterious and mystical event of the 19th century. I will tell you about the Columbian Exposition of 1893, which was held in Chicago. At first glance, there was nothing unusual about the exhibition - just an exhibition of achievements of national economy, something very similar to the All-Union Exhibition of Economic Achievements. But this is only at first glance. If you dig deeper, this exhibition raises a lot of global questions.

In 1892 it was 400 years since Columbus discovered America. The American government decided to celebrate this day with a gigantic scale. Many American cities wanted to be the center of this event, but the right to host the event was won by Chicago in 1890. A swampy site seven kilometers south of the city center was chosen for the exhibition. And here we start to have some interesting moments.
