His crimes? Civil disorder and a few misdemeanors.

So when you hear fed defenders claim firing a few thousand FBI employees would jeopardize “national security,” keep in mind this is what they were focused on for four years.

The FBI should be disbanded. I don't really think it can be saved. The fact that there were thousands of people that were more than happy to target their political opponents with the full force of the government means the rot goes way too deep.
And as was posted today, when they accessed the FBI case file database, there were 800 more cases not yet investigated! Falsifying one case is a terrible crime, but to do so on an industrial scale for 1,600 cases with never a pause of conscience means the entire institution is rotten. Those 5,000 or so agents working these need to be fired immediately, and all crimes committed prosecuted.
