❄️ In the city of Obihiro on Hokkaido Island, 115 cm (45 inches) of snow fell within 24 hours due to a low-pressure system. ❄️

Blizzards have caused road disruptions and transportation delays.

⚠️ Meteorologists warn that the low-pressure system will continue to bring blizzards to parts of northern Japan over the next five days. Some areas are expected to receive up to 50 cm (20 inches) of snow, while more than two meters (6.5 feet) of snowfall is possible in the mountains of Honshu.
