CAN YOU REALLY BE SURE?

Dear Pastor Bob: I recently watched a video about someone who had a near-death experience and claimed to have spoken with Jesus. What stood out to me was something He said—that not everyone who seeks God, attends church, or listens to sermons truly knows Him on a personal level. According to this account, those who lack that personal relationship may one day hear the words, "Depart from me, I never knew you." This really made me stop and think. I do go to church, read my Bible when I can, and pray, and I have accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. But hearing this made me wonder—how can someone be sure they truly know Him and not just go through the motions of faith?
