How We Met: A Love Story

Told in full, this story takes so much longer than a minute or two to tell, but this is pretty much the gist of it.

You think about the logistics of everything, and they’re kinda mind boggling.

Of the 52 weeks in a year, that happened to be the time I was traveling through Iowa, and on stage.

If she hadn’t been cast out from her social circle that night, she might not have wanted to go get her laugh on at a comedy club.

What if I’d stuck around after the show, and we had an awkward encounter that went nowhere?

So many things could have gone “wrong,” but the way everything worked out was just right.

Oddly enough, a couple years after that night, the friend who had her back when all others were being selfish, had resigned herself to a life of being single.

The dating scene wasn’t working out for her.

Then, bam.

She goes to a random pre-Hawkeye football tailgate, meets a guy, and they’ve been married for over a decade.

The way any two people meet is pretty interesting.

Unless it’s online, through an app.

That’s fine, but not interesting.
