Mystery of the Colosseum. Part 3

The Colosseum is known to everyone. Today, it is the most famous ancient monument of Rome—and perhaps even of the entire world. It's no wonder that people are beginning to call it one of the wonders of the world. However, it must be noted that none of the ancient or medieval authors ever referred to the Colosseum as a wonder of the world. In fact, mentions of it in ancient primary sources are rather scarce.
Yet, as the filmmakers argue, the Colosseum is a forgery. But it is not just any forgery. It turns out that the famous Colosseum is a LATER COPY OF AN ANCIENT ORIGINAL. The genuine ancient Colosseum, which the "classical" authors wrote about, ACTUALLY EXISTS. Its impressive ruins still stand to this day—not in Rome, but in Istanbul.
