Collin Griffith, a 17-year-old from Florida, was previously accused of killing his father in Oklahoma more than a year ago, but the charges were dropped. Now, he's been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of his mother, Catherine Griffith, aged 39, on September 8th.
Collin reportedly called 911, claiming his mother had died after falling on a knife during a heated argument between them. He alleged that his mother had tried to attack him with a knife, and she accidentally fell on it, suffering a fatal injury to her neck. When authorities arrived, they found Collin calm and composed, with blood on him. However, investigators found his account inconsistent with the medical examiner’s findings.
Witnesses to the incident reportedly saw Collin dragging his mother by her hair into their home as she cried out for him to stop. She allegedly pleaded with him, saying, "Let me go."
In addition to the tragic death of his mother, Collin was also named a suspect in the fatal shooting of his father in February 2023. Though no charges have been filed regarding his father’s death, the case remains under investigation.
