Joel & Jack team roping practice - 12 Aug 2022

It took a LOT of work to get there. Joel (my youngest son) is a LOT better roper than I am. In January 2022 Joel said something along the line of "Dad, I think it would be cool if we team roped together this year." I started right away practicing roping more on the dummy AND started working on the training needed so I could rope off my mare, Avi. Joel's gelding, TJ, had already been trained to calf rope and team rope by Joel. And then the very last day of January tragedy struck and somehow TJ compound fractured his right rear cannon bone. Eventually Joel found a mare named Bella to work with and train for team roping. And eventually we did several live cattle team roping practice sessions together - swapping off who was heading and who was heeling. Both of us made heading catches - but we never got both ends caught during our few live cattle practice sessions. We did however succeed in team roping together. I think this is the only video that was taken. Joel made the head catch but Avi never got me close enough to take a heel shot.

Remember to intentionally, on purpose, learn of God each day by prayerfully reading, studying, and pondering upon God's word each day. Talk to God in prayer as your Heavenly Father who would like for you to be His friend. Find out what He would like you to do for Him as His friend and go and do it for Him as His friend. Yes very intentionally, very much on purpose, become the friend of God. And have a blessed day!!
