When the king returns to the castle, he is surprised to find that the queen is in the parlor and won't see anyone.

The Queen Was in the Parlor (1932) was a Merrie Melodies cartoon produced by Leon Schlesinger Productions and distributed by Warner Bros. It was directed by Rudolf Ising, who, along with Hugh Harman, was one of the key figures behind early Warner Bros. animation.

At the time, Merrie Melodies was a sister series to Looney Tunes, created to showcase Warner Bros.' music catalog. Unlike Looney Tunes, which had recurring characters like Bosko, Merrie Melodies featured one-off musical stories.
