Driver Rolls Vehicle, Flown From Scene, GOODRICH, February 1, 2025 - At approximately 2:25 pm on February 1, 2025, the driver of a black 2017 Kia Forte was south-bound on US-59 when the driver left the pavement to the right, continued through the grass, and jumped a culvert. When the vehicle landed it rolled three times and came to rest upright. The driver, Wyona Bennett, 54, of Livingston, was entrapped. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the sene along with the Livingston and Goodrich Volunteer Fire Departments, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Terrence Dickens and Sean Barnes with The Texas Highway Patrol. Volunteer Firemen were able to safely remove Bennett from her vehicle. All traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was blocked as a landing zone was set up. Bennett was flown to Kingwood Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Her vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored in Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
