A source tells NBC News that, according to a preliminary FAA report, a single air traffic controller was handling both planes and helicopters when the crash occurred. Officials said the crew on the Black Hawk helicopter that collided with a regional jet were "very experienced," while President Trump said, without providing evidence, that diversity, equity and inclusion policies at the FAA might have contributed to the collision. Among the 64 people who were on the American Eagle flight were some of the most promising young American figure skaters as well as Russian skaters. Officials said the crew members on the Black Hawk helicopter were an Army captain, staff sergeant and chief warrant officer. NBC News' Lester Holt, Tom Llamas, Tom Costello and Courtney Kube reports.
