Sept. 22, 1991 - Barry Sanders ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns as the Lions posted their third straight victory. Sanders went over the 3,000-yard mark in career rushing (3,138) during the contest. The Detroit defense stuffed the Colts at the line of scrimmage, limiting Indianapolis to a franchise-low four net rushing yards and holding Eric Dickerson to a career-low 17 yards on the ground. NT Jerry Ball also caught the Colt workhorse in the end zone for the first safety recorded by Detroit since 1987.
