During the early morning hours of Christmas Eve 2022, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Deputies spotted a vehicle swerving on Caroline Street in Milton, Florida. The car stopped in front of Zaxby’s restaurant, where deputies made contact with the driver, 24-year-old Alexis Porter. When asked if she had been drinking, Porter admitted she had consumed alcohol but downplayed the amount.

Porter appeared disoriented, struggled to provide the correct documents, slurred her speech, and had watery eyes and poor coordination. When asked to exit the vehicle, deputies realized she wasn’t wearing any pants. She was then asked to perform field sobriety tests, including the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand tests—but she failed to complete any of them properly.

Determining that she was too impaired to drive, deputies placed her under arrest for DUI. However, once inside the patrol car, Porter managed to slip through her handcuffs, further escalating the situation. Deputies attempted to contact someone to retrieve her vehicle, but her belligerent behavior led them to tow it instead.

She was ultimately transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail for processing. This bodycam footage captures the entire chaotic encounter, highlighting the risks of impaired driving.
