Rice isn’t just food in the Philippines—it’s basically a national obsession. It’s in every meal, every snack, and probably in our dreams too. I recently got a taste (literally and figuratively) of the hard work behind it when I tried harvesting rice. Let me tell you—after a few minutes in the sun, I had a whole new level of respect for every grain on my plate.

Filipinos take rice very seriously. Breakfast? Rice. Lunch? Rice. Dinner? Of course, rice. Even Western food isn’t safe—Filipinos swap out fries for rice in a heartbeat. Burgers? Sure, but where’s the garlic rice? 🍔🍳 And don’t get me started on rice snacks. Suman, biko, bibingka… if it’s made of rice, they find a way to eat it between meals.

It’s not just a staple—it’s tradition, comfort, and quite possibly part of Filipino DNA.
