Alleykat is a fast-paced, futuristic shoot ‘em up game developed by Hewson Consultants and released in 1986 for the Commodore 64.

Designed by Andrew Braybrook, who was also behind classics like Uridium and Paradroid, the game combined high-speed racing with intense aerial combat. Players controlled a sleek hovercraft-like ship, competing in deadly arena races while simultaneously battling enemy ships, dodging obstacles, and collecting power-ups.

The game featured multiple race tracks, each with varying hazards and enemies, requiring quick reflexes and strategic maneuvering. Alleykat stood out with its unique blend of racing and shooting mechanics, offering an innovative twist on the arcade-style action genre. Its smooth scrolling, detailed sprite work, and challenging gameplay made it a favorite among Commodore 64 gamers.
