A man whose wife was on the doomed American Airlines Flight 5342 has revealed the final messages she sent to him before the crash.

Hamaad Raza's wife, 26, was on board the flight from Wichita, Kansas to Washington DC when it collided with a military helicopter just before 9pm on Wednesday night.

Officials have not said how many people died in the accident but the bodies of 30 people are reported to have been recovered so far. Authorities have suggested that there may be no survivors.
