A NIOSH-approved N-95 respirator (designed to filter out at least 95% of the dust and mold in the air) should be considered only minimal protection for dust from sweeping, sawing, and activities that cause dust in the air and mold. An N-95 respirator must fit well and be worn correctly to protect you. But that's still not good enough. Learn how to select the best respirator for mold inspections and removal to protect you from breathing in small particles in the air such as mold particles. The terminology used in respirators means you should look for either P100 or N100 ratings. That is, 99.7% of all particles 0.3 microns and larger will be filtered out.
