Joy Reid: Mayor Johnson, I, I wanna just let you respond to the idea that people who are arrested working in the kitchen at some Chicago restaurant, or dragged out of a school, god forbid, or from in front of a school, or, you know, working as roofers or agricultural workers in, in your state, um, could be, could wind up, maybe even with their families at Gitmo.

Mayor Johnson: Yeah, unfortunately, Joe, uh um uh, Joy, this administration has made it very clear that they are not gonna adhere to the Constitution of the United States of America. There are clear positions that we have to be absolutely emphatic about. You either support the Constitution of the United States of America, or you are opposed to it. It is very obvious that this administration, um, believes that it is a supreme being and does not have to adhere to the rule of law. In the city of Chicago, we made it very clear that we're gonna stand up to tyranny, whether that is a domestic or abroad. Um. The city of Chicago has a long history of fighting and protecting the fighting for and protecting the interest of working people. Um. We are, um, protected by an ordinance, uh, sanctuary city ordinance and a law that was passed 40 years ago over 40 years ago by the first black mayor in the city of Chicago, Mayor Harrow Washington. And we are living out that legacy. City of Chicago is a city that has been, um, founded and established by a black Haitian immigrant and a Potawatomi woman and immigrants from around the world, whether they were Jewish immigrants, Italian, Chinese, or descendants of slaves like my family, part of the second migration to find refuge in the city of Chicago. And we will maintain that posture regardless of who's in the White House.

Joy Reid: And I will know that after the Civil War, you know, states in the former Confederacy used vagrancy laws and other laws against things like stealing chickens to incarcerate.

Democrats are open border human traffickers. They do not care one bit about keeping people in their city, state, or country safe from illegal aliens.
