Port St. Lucie police arrested Ramon Genao-Perez, 37, of Fort Pierce, for driving the wrong way and nearly causing a second crash that left a woman dead and a child seriously injured.

In the body cam footage, investigators identify Genao-Perez as the driver who was stopped moments before crashing into first responders and the traffic crash site.

The incident occurred last Sunday, Jan. 19, along St. James Drive around 9 p.m.

Port St. Lucie police say their officers were investigating the first wrong-way crash when they stopped Genao-Perez.

Arresting documents show Genao-Perez was found with cocaine and fentanyl on him.

Port St. Lucie police are now warning the public to think twice.

"Our city is coming together to fight our aggressive driving issue and every day, with consistency and transparency, we will continue to work towards making our city even safer," the department said in a statement.

Genao-Perez was charged with DUI, reckless driving, and possession of cocaine, which is a felony.
