(This is a very sobering discussion between Scott Ritter & Nima Alkhorshid that covers a lot of important geopolitical issues. Let's remember that Scott has a lot of experience dealing with Russia on the INF Treaty issues & understands a lot about Russian history and how the Russians view things. It quickly becomes obvious that Trump & his administration don't understand Russia, nor do they really understand the Ukrainian situation. This aligns with what many other knowledgeable experts have been saying for the last few years. Nima has done his homework, based upon the probing questions he keeps asking Scott. When you listen carefully to their analysis, it also becomes obvious that Trump has NO leverage against Russia relative to the Ukrainian situation.

Scott keeps pointing out that Trump looks at things from a 'transactional' perspective without a cohesive long term strategy designed to resolve underlying issues. On the other hand, Putin & the Russians have factored in that the conflict in Ukraine is a war of attrition and that this is an existential issue for the survivability of Russia. Therefore, the Russians are willing to do whatever it takes.

Their discussion also covers NATO, Europe, Israel, Middle East, Iran, Taiwan, China and many related issues that are very important.

Because of my experience working in the hi-tech sector, I immediately had concerns about Trump wanting to place tariffs & other restrictions on semiconductor products from Taiwan. Contrary to what he thinks, this would drive up the cost of everything we use in our country that depends upon these Taiwan products. In past years I've researched how expensive & time consuming it is to build manufacturing plants for these very advanced semiconductor & computer chips. There are many reasons these plants aren't being built in the US anymore. So if Trump decides to go down this route, he will be harming us the most.

Although not discussed in any detail, Scott did mention that Trump wants to create an "Iron Dome" defense for our country. Who would this protect us from? Remember that the Iron Dome in Israel wasn't able to protect against missiles & drones from Iran in recent confrontations. Also, the Russian military continues to destroy our Patriot anti-missile systems in Ukraine. Unless the US provokes Russia too much, the Russians have no desire to fire missiles into the US. In addition, there is no defense against the recent Mach 10 OreshNik missile that Russia demonstrated in Ukraine. Regardless of what people might think about Russia, China, Iran and other countries that our political and military-industrial establishment keeps wanting to fight, why don't we look for ways to live together that benefit everyone? BRICS would be a good place to see how this might work, yet Trump wants to fight BRICS nations, instead of learning from them.

I would encourage you to take the time to listen to this entire discussion between Scott & Nima and do your own research to see if there might be better ways of getting along in the world other than constantly fighting. — RAD)
