#379 | No Charges Against Henry Co. Deputy! Scathing Remarks for Sheriff! | The Political Spotlight

Delaware County (Indiana) Prosecuting Attorney Eric M. Hoffman has decided that Henry County Sheriff's Deputy Tanner Strelecky WILL NOT FACE formal criminal charges in Delaware County due to his role in a vehicle pursuit, which first began in Henry County, traveled into Delaware County, and ended with a violent crash that resulted in a fatality and one bystander being seriously injured, at one of the City of Muncie's busiest intersections during the early morning rush hour on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Prosecutor Hoffman released an eleven-page document on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, explaining his decision not to file formal charges against Deputy Strelecky. The decision came nine months and 12 days after the incident, which the Indiana State Police and the City of Muncie Police Department investigated. Prosecutor Hoffman applied the law to the facts of the case, as laid out in the investigations.

Along with his statements about not charging the Deputy, Prosecutor Hoffman authored many scathing remarks for Henry County Sheriff John M. Sproles and his Department's Administrative Leadership.
