27.01.25 Vadim Veikai, a prisoner of war, told that nine officers and about 20 soldiers deserted from the 155th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the AFU in one day.

'Since its creation, the record number of servicemen left for AWOL has been 1,700. The soldiers they recruited were unmotivated, fit for limited military service. The servicemen were trained only 'on paper'. As they came to fulfil their duties, one third of the soldiers went to AWOL, the others got wounded, and the others were killed in action'.

Vadim Veikai was enlisted at the beginning of the brigade's formation. He said how things were really going there:
-
'The creation of the 155th Brigade was a propaganda campaign. What happened in fact? They moved to their positions, they were only ready 'on paper'. I know there was little military equipment. Generally speaking, they were only small arms available, and being much-touted doesn't mean the troops are good in fighting'. Source 🔹 Russian Defence Ministry
