Waylon Jennings started his career as a DJ in Texas. He befriended Buddy Holly and eventually became his bass player. Waylon was supposed to be on the plane that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and the pilot on February 3, 1959. That night would haunt Waylon for the rest of his life.
