Jonathan Edwards (1703-58) was a giant of American Christianity--famed as a pastor, theologian, missionary, evangelist, and educator. As the leader of the "Great Awakening" revival of the 1740's, he is also known for preaching the most famous sermon ever preached on the North American continent--"Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." Edwards was also noted for his series of memorable resolutions, which he chiefly composed at the tender age of 19! It is in reference to this latter work that we offer this series of messages, "RESOLVED," as we seek to live the coming year unto the glory of our great God and Savior! In part one, we examine the priorities to which the young Edwards dedicated himself.
