Yhwach finishes absorbing Mimihagi in his sleep, prompting the earthquakes to return to the three worlds. Haschwalth activates the Almighty and prods at Uryū's true intentions. After the Visoreds find and heal him, Renji rejoins Urahara, Shinji, Momo, Rukia, Byakuya and Soi-Fon just as they are attacked by Gerard, who challenges them all at the same time. Meanwhile, Askin downs Ichigo, Orihime and Chad as well, after which he explains that Gerard and Pernida were also unique, in that they did not receive their Schrifts from Yhwach, but only the name accompanying their pre-existing power, as the heart and left arm of the Soul King respectively. Askin expects to wait until he can utilize his Schrift again to kill them, but Yoruichi steps in and frees them. Orihime quickly heals the two and Yoruichi instructs the trio to head off to Yhwach's immediately, while Yūshirō arrives to support his sister in battle. Gerard is beaten down, and exalts that only a miracle would now give him the edge to win. After Byakuya annihilates his body and they run off however, Gerard rises as a towering giant, explaining that his Schrift "The Miracle" allows him to exchange his wounds into his godly size, as Rangiku and Hanatarō also witness from afar. The Soul Reaper group tries to fight back, but Gerard pulverizes all but Urahara. Utilizing his Schrift, Askin becomes immune to Yūshirō's spiritual pressure and gravely injures him. Haschwalth accuses Uryū of a future betrayal, before attacking him. Uryū crashes down in front of Ichigo, Chad and Orihime. In the World of the Living, Isshin and Ryūken meet in a graveyard and decide to head off to Soul Society.
