BREAKING: Ukrainian press reports on “leaked Trump peace plan” — and it ain’t good

VIDEO SYNTHESIS / According to available information, the US would continue to supply Ukraine with military support. Presumably indefinitely. This is unacceptable.

I can’t see Zelensky ever accepting this plan. It would be his political suicide. Russia would gain formal sovereignty over the territories it already controls — and Zelensky would have to allow fresh elections, in which the parties he has suppressed would have to be allowed to stand.

But under this proposal — whether the parties accept peace or not — there is no predicate for US disengagement. There’s no exit plan. POTUS would be sucked into a new ForeverWar.
