Repotting Aloe Vera: What Could Go Wrong? (Everything!)😱

I've harvested from this aloe vera plant over the years and now it's close to toppling over so I thought I would try to fix it. Would using the bonsai technique work - cutting the roots so it has more space in the pot? Well, I don't think so! I've tried but I think I need to go and find a monster pot somewhere! Got any ideas?!
