Movie Trivia & Art Reflecting Life

Bob Uecker was one of the good ones.

And I say that as someone who doesn’t even like baseball.

Uecker brought an unparalleled wit to the announcers booth, one we won’t see again in our lifetime.

And, not for nothing, he was in the Oscar-caliber film, Major League.

Set in Cleveland, filmed in Milwaukee, it’s a rare movie worthy of the classification: legendary.

We all know the quotes—“Just a bit outside,” “Don’t worry, nobody’s listening”—but were you aware of the background artist (also known as an “extra” who had one job, and failed at it?

I’ve seen Major League at least 100x.

This most recent viewing is the first time I noticed the striped-shirt, red shorts guy.
