The BTR-80A is a Russian 8×8 wheeled armored personnel carrier (APC) developed in the early 1990s as an upgraded variant of the BTR-80. Designed for troop transport, reconnaissance, and fire support, it features a 30 mm 2A72 automatic cannon and a 7.62 mm PKT coaxial machine gun, providing significantly improved firepower over its predecessor. Powered by a 260 hp KamAZ-7403 turbocharged diesel engine, it can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h on land and 9 km/h in water, thanks to its amphibious capabilities. Its all-welded steel armor offers protection against small arms fire and shell splinters, while its 8×8 drivetrain enhances mobility across various terrains.
