The Carlos Ghosn Saga - From CEO to Fugitive

Carlos Ghosn, a former automotive executive and chairman of Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi Motors, faced a dramatic fall from grace in 2018 when he was arrested in Japan on charges of financial misconduct. He was accused of underreporting his income, misusing company funds for personal expenses, and breach of trust. While awaiting trial under strict conditions, Ghosn staged a daring escape in December 2019, smuggling himself out of Japan in a cargo box on a private jet. He fled to Lebanon, which has no extradition treaty with Japan, and has since maintained his innocence, claiming the charges were part of a corporate coup against him.
