Why Migrants Lie

My Take: As a survivor of the Swedish version of the "Right To Apply System" my proposal is that the solution to the problems created by mass migration (crime, aggravation of structural unemployment, stress on social security and healthcare systems, etc..) is to abolish the right to apply for asylum at or inside the border and only take a limited number of UNHCR vetted quota refugees per year. This will result in massive savings for governments as the astronomical costs associated with asylum seeker benefits, detention and deportation are eliminated or drastically reduced. The right to apply is meaningless without the right to stay. Abolishing the right to apply system would result in humanitarian outcomes. The significant percentage of refused asylum seekers who end up being detained and refouled (i.e. deported to situations where they face torture or execution) will be minimized. If the failed and de facto anti-humanitarian right to apply system is abolished the possibility of refoulement will be drastically reduced, if not eliminated.

Refused migrants should not have to pay with their lives or be subjected to torture for having applied for asylum in a Western country. The residence permit or green card is not worth it.
