The first generation SONY ZV- E10 is a great little camera but with one major drawback - terrible battery life. This product may be able to fix that. I should add that as with many products from the Chinese mega market, AliExpress, it can be found at a range of prices from multiple retailers, just shop around for the best bargain. The store I bought mine from is currently selling it at £7.01 before shipping and taxes.

This device allows you to power your camera from an external battery or USB-C power supply and takes the form of a dummy battery which replaces the original NP-FW50 battery and connects directly to your external power source.

In the plain white box, I received the dummy battery with a short wired USB-C power cable. That's it, no paperwork, instructions or information sheet. But who needs that?

You can use it with any decent quality power bank or power adapter with a USB-C outlet. However, make sure the outlet can supply PD 18W-65W and is USB-C QC/PD 9V 2A. Any decent quality power bank should work as will a good USB power adapter, but maybe not a cheap low power phone charger.

Operation is simple enough, just plug it into the camera in place of the original battery, taking care to feed the cable through the flap in the battery door, and push it shut. You may have to bend the cable slightly to meet the angle of the flap and push slightly, but it does work. If you use a camera cage, you should see a precut groove to accommodate the cable.
Then just switch on the camera and use as normal.

I should add that another way to solve the battery issue is to leave the Sony battery in place and connect a power cable to the camera USB-C port in the port bay. This means that a cable will run across the rear of the camera, which can be awkward, but will keep the Sony battery always on charge and should the power bank cable get disconnected you will not lose power, as you do if the dummy battery is unplugged.

Any, this dummy battery is a nice solution to the poor battery issue and at just £7 will certainly not break the bank but there are other solutions out there.
