A Nation Like No Other

The Gibeonites were people descended from the Amorites (2 Samuel 21:2) and the Amorites were known for the giants/Nephilim amongst their population. Amos 2:9 "Yet destroyed I (YAH) the Amorite before them (the Israelites), whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath." When Joshua and the Israelites conquered the promised land, the Gibeonites made peace with them through deception. Joshua 9:3-6 "...the people of Gibeon, having heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai, acted deceptively and set out as envoys, carrying on their donkeys worn-out sacks and old wineskins, cracked and mended. They put worn, patched sandals on their feet and threadbare clothing on their bodies, and their whole supply of bread was dry and moldy. They went to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal and said to him and the men of Israel, We have come from a distant land; please make a treaty with us." Joshua and the Israelites did not consult with YAH before agreeing to the treaty and fell for the Gibeonites' scheme. When Israel realized they had been tricked by the Gibeonites, "All the leaders answered, We have sworn an oath to them (the Gibeonites) by YAH, the Father of Israel, and now we cannot touch them. This is how we will treat them: We will let them live, so that no wrath will fall on us because of the oath we swore to them. They continued, Let them live, but let them be woodcutters and water carriers for the whole congregation. So the leaders kept their promise. Then Joshua summoned the Gibeonites and said, Why did you deceive us by telling us you live far away from us, when in fact you live among us? Now therefore you are under a curse and will perpetually serve as woodcutters and water carriers for the house of my Father (YAH)." (Joshua 9:19-23) This is why Joshua and the Israelites came to the rescue of Gibeon when Gibeon was attacked by the 5 Amorite kings in Joshua 10:3-8 -- because the Israelites honored the treaty with Gibeon, which they swore by YAH. King Saul of Israel later broke the treaty with Gibeon, which caused a famine amongst Israel during the reign of king David (2 Samuel 21:1); to appease the Gibeonites and put an end to the famine, seven descendants of Saul were given to them to be put to death (2 Samuel 21:6) and YAH healed the land of Israel after that (2 Samuel 21:14). The Gibeonites were enemies of Israel and had deceived the Israelites into making a treaty with them, but breaking a vow/covenant is a serious thing -- YAH requires faithfulness of His people Israel so they had to honor the treaty they made with them nonetheless. May Israel never forgot how Joshua had the captains of Israel stand on necks of the Amorite kings, proclaiming that YAH would do that to ALL of Israel's enemies against whom we fight. ALL of our enemies will get what's coming to them in accordance with Joshua's words in Joshua 10:25 and in accordance with Deuteronomy 33:27 "...He (YAH) shall thrust out the enemy from before you (Israel); and shall say, Destroy them." Right now, everyone is witnessing YAH's fishers at work, fishing for Israelites/black slave descendants to return them to YAH but the day will come when everyone will witness YAH's hunters at work too. Jeremiah 16:14-17 "...behold, the days come, says YAH, that it shall no more be said, YAH lives, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; but, YAH lives, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither He had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. Behold, I WILL SEND FOR MANY FISHERS, says YAH, and they shall fish them (the Israelites); and after will I SEND FOR MANY HUNTERS, and they shall hunt them (the enemies of Israel) from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. For Mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from My face, neither is their iniquity hid from Mine eyes. And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled My land, they have filled Mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things." The gentiles hiding in the rocks from YAH is also referred to in Isaiah 2:10, Isaiah 2:19-21, etc. but all enemies of YAH and Israel will be found and eliminated. The kingdoms of the gentiles and their idols will come to an end, but the Kingdom of YAH, David and Israel will last forever (Ezekiel 37:21-28).
