Perfectly Camouflaged into the Cliffs!!!

There is very little official information about this location so my hypothesis about it being Roman is just that, a hypothesis. It is based on extensive time I spent in Turkey about 10 years ago where I hiked up to nearly identical Roman forts perched up on mountainsides, bricked up caves with arrow slits. This could just as easily be from before Roman involvement in ancient Illyria, Illyrian, or any other ancient military that wanted to guard this strategic path over the mountains and had the authority to do so. These locations were used as fortifications and shelters during the World Wars as well.

Not far from this cave, about a hundred meters lower and to the west, there is another smaller one, popularly called Ponistrice, whose foundations are filled with so-called "bone breccias", and they are covered by brown loam with many stones. Several pieces of flint tools were identified in that deposit, which indicates the presence of a man from the younger Paleolithic who lived in this area. The remains of the discovered material culture from the Turkish Furnace cave are numerous and varied; along with animal bones, ceramic products predominate, followed by flint products, while bone products are less common. Considering the current level of research, it was established that the oldest inhabitants of the cave are members of the impresso culture group or people of the older Neolithic.
