Among the proposals most well-received by Nevadans was the president’s push for no tax on tips. The idea, he said during his first campaign visit to Nevada in 2024, came after a conversation with a waitress at his Las Vegas hotel. Trump said he thanked the young server for an idea that aided him in his victory.

“In Nevada, we have the largest concentration of tipped workers of anywhere in the country,” said Ted Pappageorge, Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer, after the then-presidential nominee first toted the idea.

The proposal aims to eliminate the federal income tax on tips and the president said he plans to work with lawmakers in the coming weeks.
