On June 30th, 2022, a patrol officer observed a female driving erratically on SR-5. The vehicle was dangerously swerving, braking and accelerating before the officer conducted a traffic stop. The 36-year-old Russian-American confessed to drinking and driving. The officers were having a tough time communicating with her but eventually got her to agree to field sobriety tests. The female’s twitchy body language and the twirl that she did during the walk and turn test was enough to bring the field sobriety tests to a stop. She was subsequently arrested but no without a fight. The female even spat on an officer during the arrest. Her child was handed over to Child Protection Services while she was taken to a detention facility for the preliminary breath test. The female’s breath alcohol content was .240, almost 4 times the legal limit. She continued to behave erratically and even refused to sign the DUI citation. The female was identified as 36-year old- Valentina. She was charged with DUI with a person under 18 in vehicle, damage to property, child neglect, refusal to sign a citation, resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. The Florida Department of Children and Families took custody of the child.
